Beat reporters build up a base of knowledge on and gain familiarity with a particular area, allowing them to provide deep understanding and explanation in addition to reporting straight facts. Beat reporters will also build up a relationship with sources that they visit again and again, allowing for trust to build between the journalist and their source of information. You get to choose from six different areas, where you will be assigned to report! Although you aren't guaranteed a particular beat, I will try to assign you to one of the areas you chose.
